Pakistani man arrested at German airport with forged driver's licence
A Pakistani national has been detained at Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport after arriving with a forged driver's licence. Federal police discovered the fake document during a routine Schengen border check on a flight from Barcelona. The man now faces charges for using false identification and entering Germany without authorisation. The incident took place when officers inspected passengers arriving from Spain. During the check, they found a fully counterfeit driver's licence in the traveller's possession. Further investigation confirmed the document was fake and that the man had no legal right to enter or remain in Germany.
Authorities have since referred him to immigration officials for further action. The case follows other isolated reports of forged identification in Germany, including a recent incident near Memmingen involving a fake ID. However, no nationwide statistics on confiscated false driver's licences or official documents for 2025 or 2026 are currently available.
The man remains under investigation for procuring false official identification and unauthorised entry. Immigration authorities will now determine the next steps in his case. The discovery highlights ongoing efforts by border police to detect counterfeit travel documents.
