Panbros Salt Industry Clashes With Local Authorities Over Land Dispute

Panbros Salt Industry is embroiled in a land dispute in the Weija area, with officials accusing local authorities of land encroachment. The Municipal Chief Executive (MCE) for Weija-Gbawe, Felix Odartey Lamptey, is at the centre of the controversy.

The dispute began as urban expansion encroached on Panbros Salt Industry's land. The company's officials have labelled this move as land encroachment. Lamptey, however, claims that the Municipal Assembly is merely facilitating discussions on land use and potential investments.

Residents and workers have alleged that Lamptey, with the support of Chinese investor Tang Wei, is attempting to seize parts of Panbros' land, even deploying armed personnel. Eyewitnesses have reported a team entering the disputed site with earth-moving equipment, claiming authorization from the Assembly. Panbros Salt Industry has called for intervention from the Lands Commission and security agencies to prevent further clashes.

The land dispute between Panbros Salt Industry and local authorities, allegedly involving Felix Odartey Lamptey and Chinese investor Tang Wei, remains unresolved. Panbros has urged intervention from relevant authorities to maintain peace and protect its property rights.
