Parliament advances Budget 2026 with eight ministries funded by November
Parliament has made progress on Budget 2026, approving allocations for eight ministries during the committee stage. The debates and winding-up sessions will continue until November 27. Meanwhile, enforcement agencies have recovered RM15.5 billion in lost revenue by tackling corruption, smuggling, and cartels.
The Dewan Rakyat approved Budget 2026 funds for the Works, Transport, Health, and Domestic Trade and Cost of Living ministries. Also included were allocations for Energy Transition and Water Transformation, Science, Technology and Innovation, Housing and Local Government, and Youth and Sports. In total, 19 ministries and the Prime Minister’s Department have now secured their budgets, with eight more set for debate next week.
The Budget 2026 committee stage will run until November 27, with further ministry allocations still under review. The recovery of RM15.5 billion highlights ongoing efforts to combat financial mismanagement. New laws on transparency, whistleblower rights, and governance are set to be introduced in the coming months.
