Passau Plans Full-Day Care Expansion at Hacklberg Elementary School
The city of Passau is planning to improve the spatial conditions at Hacklberg elementary school to accommodate full-day care credit. A committee is discussing a proposal to build a canteen with ancillary rooms for up to 150 pupils. The canteen will cater for 100 children from the open day-care school and 50 from the after-school care credit center.
The city is preparing for the full-day care credit claim, starting from 2026. The canteen can be extended without impairing separate use, and a second care room will be created. The full-day care credit claim will be gradually implemented, starting with the first grade in the 2026/2027 school year. To assess the need for after-school and holiday care, the city is conducting an online survey from October 16 to 31, 2025. The city is implementing the full-day care credit claim alongside regular renovation measures at several schools.
