Pedestrian dies after crossing against red light in Spandau crash

A pedestrian was killed in a traffic accident in Spandau on Monday evening. The collision happened at around 9 p.m. at the intersection of Stabholzgarten and Klosterstraße.

The 42-year-old man was crossing Klosterstraße when he was struck by a driver. Police reports indicate he entered the road against a red light. Emergency services arrived quickly but could not save him—he died at the scene from severe injuries.

The accident forced authorities to close the area to traffic. Investigations continued until approximately 1 a.m. while officers examined the scene. The driver’s identity has not been released in public reports.

The pedestrian’s death remains under investigation by local police. The intersection reopened early Tuesday morning after the examination concluded. No further details about the driver or vehicle have been made public.
