Pedestrian hit by car in Charlottenburg after ignoring red light

A pedestrian was struck by a car in Charlottenburg after crossing the road against a red light. The collision left the individual with a head injury, though doctors confirmed it was not life-threatening. Police have now referred the case to traffic investigators for further examination.

The accident occurred when the pedestrian entered the road despite the signal being red. The car, travelling on a green light, hit the person, who then struck the windshield and briefly lost consciousness. Emergency services arrived quickly and treated the injured party at the scene.

The driver remained uninjured but was visibly distressed by the incident. Tests confirmed the driver had no alcohol in their system. However, the pedestrian’s blood alcohol level exceeded 0.2% at the time of the collision. Authorities have since passed the case to the specialised traffic crimes unit. Their investigation will determine whether further action is needed.

The pedestrian suffered a head injury but is not in a critical condition. The driver, though shaken, was cleared of alcohol involvement. The ongoing investigation will clarify any legal or procedural next steps.
