Peine’s War Graves Commission raises funds for fallen soldiers’ memorials
The Peine branch of the German War Graves Commission held a fundraising drive in the city centre on Saturday, November 15, 2025. Volunteers collected donations between 11 a.m. and 12 p.m. as part of a wider campaign running until the end of the year. The event aimed to support the preservation and upkeep of war graves across the region.
The collection took place in Peine’s downtown area, with organisers stationed in both the central square and nearby districts. While no high-profile attendees were recorded in local reports, similar events in Braunschweig and Wolfsburg saw participation from politicians, council members, and public officials.
The Peine event formed part of a nationwide effort to secure funds for war grave maintenance. Organisers have encouraged further contributions before the campaign closes at year’s end. All proceeds will directly support the commission’s ongoing preservation work.
