Penzlin secures €1M state grant for historic renovation projects
Penzlin is set to receive nearly €1 million in state funding for significant renovation initiatives. On Wednesday, December 17, 2025, the official handover will take place at 3:45 PM in the town’s historic Alte Burg. State Construction Minister Christian Pegel will present the grant notices to Mayor Sven Flechner in person.
The funding will support two major projects in Penzlin. The largest share, around €648,000, is allocated for the roof renovation of the west wing of Alte Burg. This historic building, a local landmark, will undergo essential repairs to preserve its structure.
The funds will directly benefit Penzlin’s heritage and urban infrastructure. The roof repairs at Alte Burg and the upgrades to Bornstraße are scheduled to proceed following the handover. The municipality will now move forward with planning and implementation.
