The altercation began inside a local bar before moving onto the street. Witnesses described how the 22-year-old suspect suddenly pulled out a sharp object and lunged at the victim. The 24-year-old suffered severe injuries and was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.
Following the attack, police detained the suspect. A magistrate at Karlsruhe District Court later issued an arrest warrant on suspicion of attempted manslaughter. The 22-year-old remains in pretrial detention while investigations continue. Authorities have not yet released details about potential charges or a motive for the attack. The victim, still recovering, remains under medical care.
