A violent attack in Pforzheim’s city centre has left a 24-year-old man in hospital with critical injuries. The incident unfolded late at night after a dispute inside a bar escalated into a knife assault outside the venue. Police have since arrested a 22-year-old suspect in connection with the case.

The altercation began inside a local bar before moving onto the street. Witnesses described how the 22-year-old suspect suddenly pulled out a sharp object and lunged at the victim. The 24-year-old suffered severe injuries and was rushed to hospital for emergency surgery.

Following the attack, police detained the suspect. A magistrate at Karlsruhe District Court later issued an arrest warrant on suspicion of attempted manslaughter. The 22-year-old remains in pretrial detention while investigations continue. Authorities have not yet released details about potential charges or a motive for the attack. The victim, still recovering, remains under medical care.

The suspect is being held without bail as the investigation proceeds. The victim’s condition is stable but serious after undergoing urgent treatment. Police have not confirmed whether additional charges will follow.
