PGA Tour of Hope returns to Engers Castle for charity cycling event in July 2023
The PGA Tour of Hope will return to Engers Castle on July 26, 2023, marking another stop in its long-running charity cycling event. Local officials met with tour organisers this week to finalise preparations and discuss fundraising plans for the upcoming visit. Lord Mayor Jan Einig, Mayor Peter Jung, and Deputy Mayor Ralf Seemann hosted a meeting at City Hall with key figures from the PGA Tour. Attendees included Chairman Bernhard Sommer, his deputy Hans-Josef Bracht, and honorary chairman Jürgen Grünwald. Einig expressed his enthusiasm, calling the event a powerful symbol of solidarity that deserves full support. The three-day cycling event in July serves as the centrepiece of the tour, but fundraising efforts begin months earlier at each location. Local organisers Martin Hahn, Volker Gelhard, and Klaus-Peter Fries also joined the discussions, contributing ideas for the Engers stop and additional on-site campaigns. Since its launch, the PGA Tour of Hope has completed 28 editions, raising hundreds of thousands of euros for children battling cancer and those in need. By February 2026, 42 cities and municipalities across Germany will have participated in or hosted stages of the tour. The Engers stop will form part of the tour's ongoing mission to support vulnerable children through fundraising and public engagement. Organisers and local leaders are now working together to ensure the event's success when it arrives in July 2023.
