Pharmacist hit with €336 charge after cancelling Gedisa membership in dispute
Claudia Hagedorn, owner of three pharmacies, faced unexpected charges from Gedisa despite cancelling her membership months earlier. The company sent her an invoice for €336 on January 2, 2024—just hours after her cancellation was supposedly confirmed. The billing dispute has left her frustrated and more certain about severing ties with the service provider.
Hagedorn first requested to cancel her Gedisa membership in September 2023. Yet, on January 1, 2024, the company officially confirmed the termination, backdating it to December 16, 2023. She disputed this date, stating she had no contact with Gedisa after her initial email.
At 1:07 a.m. on January 2, 2024, an invoice for €112 per pharmacy location arrived—totalling €336. The breakdown included €75 for a basic package and €19.50 for the KIM connectivity service at each site. Her husband, Helge Hagedorn, who manages the pharmacies’ finances, contacted Gedisa and was assured the error would be fixed. However, no specific employee was named in the resolution process. The incident deepened Hagedorn’s resolve to avoid future dealings with Gedisa. Despite the cancellation confirmation, the unexpected charge reinforced her decision to distance herself from the company.
Gedisa’s invoice arrived after Hagedorn believed her membership had ended. The company acknowledged the mistake but provided no clear details on who handled the correction. For now, the pharmacist remains firm in her choice to cut ties with the service provider.
