Philadelphia Museum Explores the Untold Stories of Occupation Children
A free public event on the history of occupation children and their descendants will take place at the City Museum in Philadelphia. Titled 'Occupation Children and Their Descendants in Search of Their Roots', the evening will feature historian Dr. Sophie Hubbe presenting her latest book. The discussion will include those directly affected by this often-overlooked chapter of history.
The main event is scheduled for December 11, 2025, at 5:00 PM at the City Museum (Große Märkerstraße 10). Organised by the Halle City Museum and the State Agency for Civic Education of Saxony-Anhalt, it will combine a reading, a lecture, and an open discussion.
The evening aims to shed light on a complex and often unspoken part of German and Austrian history. No tickets are required, as admission is free. Those interested in post-war social history or personal stories of identity and belonging are encouraged to attend.
