Philippines grants visa relief for Middle East-stranded travellers until April
The Philippine Department of Justice has introduced temporary visa relief for foreign nationals stranded by Middle East flight disruptions. Those with expired stays since late February will now avoid penalties until early April.
The new policy covers travellers whose authorised stay expired on or after February 28, 2026. They can remain in the Philippines legally until April 1, 2026, without facing administrative fees, fines, or overstay charges.
The Bureau of Immigration has been directed to enforce the measure strictly. Official sources have not specified how many nationalities or countries are affected by the ongoing air travel issues linked to the Middle East conflict.
Eligible foreign nationals will have their status regularised until the April deadline. The move aims to ease pressure on those unable to leave due to regional flight cancellations. No further extensions or details on affected travellers have been announced.
