Pickering's Mayor's Gala Honours Decades of Community Philanthropy
Pickering's annual Mayor's Gala took place in late November 2022, drawing over 500 guests to celebrate more than 20 years of charitable work. The event, hosted by Mayor Kevin Ashe, recognised local organisations for their contributions to the community.
The gala featured performances by Canadian singer Matt Dusk, adding entertainment to the evening's celebrations. Premier Doug Ford and Finance Minister Peter Bethlenfalvy were among the attendees, joining local leaders and supporters.
Among the honoured groups was the Ajax Pickering Hospital Foundation, acknowledged for its impact on healthcare in the region. Key sponsors, including Durham Live! and FGF Brands, helped make the event possible. The gathering highlighted decades of philanthropy, with speeches and awards marking the achievements of non-profits in Pickering.
The Mayor's Gala brought together politicians, donors, and residents to reflect on years of community support. The event reinforced the city's commitment to charitable causes while recognising those who have made a difference.
