Pion3ers appoints Norman Wagner as new CEO in April 2023 leadership shift
Pion3ers, a transformation specialist in retail and media, has announced a leadership change. Norman Wagner will take over as the new CEO in April 2023, replacing Joel Koch. The move follows Koch’s eight-year tenure at the company, where he played a key role in its establishment under Omnicom Media Group.
Wagner brings extensive experience from top media and tech firms. He has held senior positions at Ebiquity, Mediacom, Deutsche Telekom, and most recently Utiq. His background includes a strong focus on market trends, team development, and driving innovation in communications.
Paul Remitz, CEO of Omnicom Media, acknowledged Joel Koch’s contributions over the past eight years. Koch led the creation of Pion3ers and helped shape its growth within the group. Wagner will officially step into the Managing Director role in March before becoming CEO the following month. Pion3ers specialises in helping businesses like Rewe Group achieve measurable success through retail and media transformation. Wagner’s strategic mindset and tech-savvy approach align with the company’s goals. His ability to spot emerging trends early is expected to support Pion3ers’ next phase of expansion.
The leadership transition marks a new chapter for Pion3ers. Wagner’s expertise in media and technology will guide the company’s future direction. Meanwhile, Koch’s departure concludes a period of significant development for the business.
