Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner Plunges in Ahmedabad, Claiming Lives of 241

Yo, check it out. This ain't no fairy tale. An Air India Boeing 787 Dreamliner going down, right after takeoff from Ahemdabad's airport. Here's the lowdown:

The flight was bound for London Gatwick, carrying 230 passengers and a crew of 12. Sadly, all of 'em bit the dust, except for one chap, a fella named Vishwash Kumar Ramesh from the United Kingdom. He walked away unscathed after a colossal explosion, and bolted from the carnage on foot.

"I ain't gonna lie, when I stood up, I was surrounded by corpses. I freaked out, man. I got up and bolted like a bat outta hell. There were plane debris everywhere, and someone grabbed me, shoved me in an ambulance and hauled me to the hospital," Ramesh shared with reporters.

The flight took off a little after 1:39 p.m., but five minutes later, that Dreamliner was a fireball, smashing into a residential area called Meghanagar.

The blast and subsequent fire caused a freaking pandemonium among the locals. A black plume of smoke could be seen from miles away.

Parts of the Boeing incinerated the roof of a nursing home for medical students, and about 50 of those students were rushed to the hospital.

Emergency services are on the scene, trying to sort out what the hell happened. It looks like at least 50 residents of nearby homes perished, but the numbers are still being confirmed.

The Prime Minister of India, Narendra Modi, called the whole episode a "heart-rending tragedy". The President of Russia, Vladimir Putin, offered his condolences to the Indian government and the families of the deceased.

As for the cause of the crash, it's believed that a flock of birds knocked out the engines, causing the pilot to lose power.

Still waiting on the black boxes to shed some light on the situation. Initial analysis of security footage suggests that the landing gear was down, with the flaps up at a crucial moment, but that ain't sayin' it was the cause of the crash.

No definitive cause for the accident has been identified yet, but more info is coming in as the investigation continues. Keep your ear to the ground, folks. This story ain't over yet.

Here are a few more tidbits to keep in mind:

  • The crash took place on June 12, 2025.
  • The flight manifest confirmed Vishwash Kumar Ramesh, a citizen of the United Kingdom, as the sole survivor.
  • Investigations into the cause of the crash are ongoing. No definitive cause has been identified yet.
  • The black boxes (flight data recorder and flight voice recorder) are still being recovered.

In light of the tragic plunge of Air India's Boeing 787 Dreamliner in Ahmedabad on June 12, 2025, various industries such as finance and transportation have been affected. For example, stock prices for aircraft manufacturers like Boeing individually plummeted, as a result of the global aviation industry's uncertain future. Additionally, the catastrophic loss of life has left families financially impoverished, forcing some to turn to charity for aid. This incident underscores the interconnectedness of these industries and their impact on one another.
