PM Chính Visits Cần Thơ, Urges Improvements in Two-Tier Model and Workload Management
Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính visited Cần Thơ City on Sunday, engaging with voters ahead of the upcoming National Assembly session. He praised the city's efficient local administrative systems under the two-tier model but also noted challenges and urged improvements.
PM Chính acknowledged that the two-tier model has brought efficiency but admitted confusion at the grassroots level due to heavy workloads and limited staff capacity. He emphasized the need for Cần Thơ to enhance its internal structures and address capacity shortages to build a capable civil service.
He highlighted the issue of increased workload in document authentication, particularly in densely populated areas, causing overload. To tackle this, he called for maximizing the city's unique potential and competitive advantages to create new development space, acting as a growth pole for the Cửu Long (Mekong) delta region.
PM Chính also emphasized the need for revisions to the current Land Law to clearly stipulate procedures for land-use extensions and adjustments in Cần Thơ. He urged the city to mobilize resources for infrastructure development, focusing on transportation and digital transformation.
PM Chính's visit to Cần Thơ City underscored the need for the city to address challenges in its two-tier administrative model and workload management. By enhancing internal structures, maximizing its unique potential, and revising land laws, Cần Thơ can better serve its citizens and contribute to the region's growth.
