PM Modi and Amit Shah to unveil Assam's mega infrastructure push

Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah will visit Assam from March 13 to 15. The trip includes key events across the state, focusing on infrastructure, healthcare, and land rights for tea garden workers.

On March 13, PM Modi will begin his visit in the Bodoland Territorial Region (BTR). There, he will lay foundation stones for a railway coach repairing factory and six bridges. He will also launch three new railway services, part of 15 planned connections—nine of which are already operational.

The next day, March 14, the Prime Minister will travel to Silchar. He will lay the foundation stone for the Rs 22,000 crore Silchar-Guwahati Express Highway, a major infrastructure project for the region. In Guwahati, PM Modi will hand over the first land patta to a tea garden labourer. This marks the start of Assam's initiative to provide land rights to around three lakh tea garden workers. On March 15, Union Home Minister Amit Shah will arrive in Guwahati. He will inaugurate the Pragjyotishpur Medical College and later address the BJP's youth Sankalp Samaroh at Khanapara.

The three-day visit will see multiple development projects launched across Assam. These include new railway services, a major highway, land rights for workers, and a medical college. The events are expected to strengthen infrastructure and public services in the state.
