PM Phạm Minh Chính Launches Tầy Giang School Project in Đà Nẵng
Prime Minister Phạm Minh Chính recently attended the ground-breaking ceremony for the Tầy Giang Boarding and Semi-boarding School for Primary and Secondary Students in Đà Nẵng. The school, located in the rural Tầy Giang Commune of Quảng Nam Province, is part of a larger plan to improve education infrastructure in the region.
The Tầy Giang school project, set to be completed by June 2026, is one of six such schools planned for border communes in Đà Nẵng. The school will be built on a site of over seven hectares at a cost of over VNĐ262 billion (about US$10 million). It will include classrooms, dormitories, a library, a canteen, a multifunctional hall, a cultural house, a mini football field, and other facilities.
Prime Minister Chính stressed the importance of education and training, aiming to improve knowledge and nurture talents. He encouraged Đà Nẵng to consider expanding the Tầy Giang school project to a second phase. The local poverty rate in Tầy Giang Commune is over 46%, with nine schools serving over 2,500 students in difficult mountain terrain. The new school aims to provide better educational opportunities for the predominantly Cơ Tu ethnic minority population.
The Tầy Giang Boarding and Semi-boarding School is expected to significantly improve educational access and quality in the region. Its completion, along with the other five schools in Đà Nẵng, is part of a nationwide plan to build 248 semi-boarding schools in border communes. This project underscores the government's commitment to investing in education and human resource development.
