Parking in Mainz GmbH (PMG) has announced the closure of the Rathaus parking garage from Tuesday evening, October 21st, at 8 PM to Saturday morning, October 25th, at 6 AM. The closure is due to the upcoming Minister Presidents' Conference in Mainz from October 22nd to 24th. PMG has advised long-term parkers to use the alternative Löhrstraße parking garage during this period.
The conference, hosted by Rhineland-Palatinate which has taken over the chairmanship for one year as of October 1st, will take place at the Rheingoldhalle in Mainz on October 24th. While the specific list of government heads attending is not provided, it is expected that Minister President Alexander Schweitzer (SPD) of Rhineland-Palatinate will be present, along with other Minister Presidents from across Germany.
The conference agenda includes discussions on strengthening the export location and civil defense. Minister President Alexander Schweitzer (SPD) will receive his colleagues for preliminary discussions on October 23rd, ahead of the main conference on October 24th.
The Rathaus parking garage closure is a necessary measure to accommodate the Minister Presidents' Conference. PMG has provided an alternative parking option for long-term parkers. The conference, hosted by Rhineland-Palatinate, is expected to discuss crucial topics affecting Germany's economic and security landscape.
