POL-REK: 251219-1: Inaugural Meeting of the New Police Advisory Board
The Rhein-Erft District Police Advisory Board held its first meeting on Wednesday, 17 December. New members gathered at the central police headquarters in Bergheim to elect their leadership. The session marked the start of their term with key appointments announced.
District Administrator Frank Rock opened the meeting by welcoming the eleven board members. He explained their duties as overseers of local policing matters.
Frank Klein, representing the CDU, was unanimously chosen as the new chair. He later stressed the need for clear and timely updates from the police authority on important issues.
André Hess, also from the CDU, took on the role of secretary without opposition. Nicole Kolster of Alliance 90/The Greens secured two positions: deputy chair and deputy secretary of the board.
The session followed the inauguration of Manfred Weiler, who had been appointed chair of the broader Police Council in December 2021.
The newly formed advisory board now has its leadership in place. Chair Frank Klein and his team will work closely with the police authority to ensure transparency. Their term begins with a focus on open communication between the board and law enforcement.
