Poland reopens two border crossings with Belarus after weeks of closure

Poland has reopened two key border crossings with Belarus after a period of closure. The move follows a regulation signed by Interior Minister Marcin Kierwiński on November 14, 2025. Both checkpoints officially resumed operations on November 17, 2025, easing travel between the two countries.

The Kuźnica Białostocka crossing, now accessible again, is reserved for personal cars only. This restriction usually keeps queues shorter compared to other entry points. Meanwhile, the Bobrowniki (Berestovitsa) checkpoint handles a mix of passenger cars, buses, and freight traffic.

As of yesterday, the Brest crossing saw around 600 passenger cars and four buses waiting to pass. Over at Berestovitsa, a line of 35 trucks had already formed. The reopening comes after Minister Kierwiński’s official order earlier in the week.

The restored crossings will help reduce delays for travellers and freight transport. Kuźnica Białostocka’s lighter traffic contrasts with the busier Bobrowniki route, where both passenger and cargo vehicles continue to queue. The decision follows weeks of restricted movement along the border.
