Police Advisory Council Concludes Term, Welcomes New Leadership
The final meeting of the Police Advisory Council for this municipal election term was held on Friday, October 24, at Recklinghausen Police Headquarters. The meeting discussed key topics such as the status of police properties, the introduction of electronic case files, and clan-based crime within the jurisdiction.
The Police Advisory Council, a legally mandated body fostering trust and cooperation among the public, local government, and the police, saw its last meet for this term. Police President Friederike Zurhausen expressed gratitude to Mr. Gunnemann, the outgoing chairman, and all council members for their productive cooperation.
The council, composed of elected members from Recklinghausen District Council and Bottrop City Council, will see changes due to the local elections. A new Police Advisory Council will be formed, with Jürgen Schilling as the new chairman of the Police District Council. Meanwhile, deputy chairman Mr. Thorwesten was presented with a commemorative coin from Recklinghausen Police Headquarters as a farewell gesture.
