Drug Gang Arrested - Large Quantities of Drugs Seized - Police dismantle major cocaine trafficking ring in Münsterland after months of investigation
A major drug trafficking network in the Münsterland region has been dismantled after months of investigation. Police operations led to multiple arrests and the seizure of large quantities of narcotics, including cocaine and cannabis. The crackdown is part of a wider effort against organised drug crime in North Rhine-Westphalia.
The investigation began in November 2024 when four suspected dealers came under customs surveillance. Authorities had already confiscated tens of kilograms of cannabis and cocaine before making any arrests.
On February 19, 2025, around 170 officers executed arrest warrants across the region. Four men—aged 28, 38, 39, and 43—were detained on charges of organised drug trafficking. During the raid, police seized 25 kilograms of cannabis, cocaine, and amphetamines.
The network operated across several locations, including an office, a café, and a workshop in Ahaus, as well as an illegal cannabis cultivation site in Gronau. This operation follows a string of similar crackdowns in the Münsterland area over the past two years.
Between 2024 and 2026, at least 15 major cases were documented, including raids in Münster (October 2024, eight arrests), Coesfeld (March 2025, cocaine trafficking ring), and Borken (July 2025, cannabis plantations). Local media and police reports confirm the ongoing efforts to disrupt drug networks in the region.
The arrests mark another step in the fight against drug trafficking in North Rhine-Westphalia. With multiple operations conducted since 2024, authorities continue to target organised crime groups. The seized drugs and dismantled networks aim to reduce illegal trade in the Münsterland region.
