Port Erin clerk steps down for new role at Braddan Parish
Jason Roberts has stepped down as clerk of Port Erin Commissioners. His resignation was accepted at a recent meeting, marking the end of his current role with the local authority.
The move comes as Roberts prepares to take on a new position in early 2026—replacing Colin Whiteway as clerk of Braddan Parish Commissioners.
Roberts will remain involved with Port Erin during a transitional period. His departure follows the announcement that Colin Whiteway, clerk of Braddan Parish Commissioners, will retire in 2026 after 18 years in the role.
Port Erin Commissioners have not yet named a successor for Roberts. They plan to share further details once recruitment begins. For now, no public information exists about who will fill the vacancy by 2026.
Roberts’ next role will see him take charge at Braddan, where Whiteway has served since 2008. The transition ensures continuity in local governance as both authorities adjust to the changes.
Port Erin Commissioners will provide updates on the recruitment process in due course. Roberts’ temporary support during the handover aims to maintain smooth operations.
His move to Braddan Parish Commissioners will take effect once Whiteway’s retirement is finalised in early 2026.
