Portland Street's Blank Spare Content Studios closes after one year

Blank Spare Content Studios, a creative workspace on Portland Street, will shut its doors this week. Opened just last year, the venue offered five flexible content zones, including a TikTok Live suite and a dedicated podcast studio.

The decision to close comes as the founders shift their focus to individual business projects. The studio was launched in 2023 by a duo, including former Social Chain managing director Leeson. He later described the project as one of the steepest learning experiences of his career.

Originally planned as a professional content hub, the space gradually became more community-focused. Brown, one of the co-founders, expressed gratitude to partners like LOFT.uk, William Wood, and Bruntwood SciTech for their backing during its operation.

With the closure, Brown will return to marketing consultancy. He also shared plans to keep supporting community-driven events in the future. The facility's final week marks the end of a short but dynamic run. Its five specialised zones, from live-streaming setups to podcast booths, will no longer be available. The founders have now moved on to pursue separate business opportunities.
