Postal worker accused of stealing reward cards, Austell police say
A US Postal Service worker has been charged with stealing and using AT&T reward cards intended for customers. Adrienne Braziel, the accused employee, now faces two counts of financial transaction card fraud. The case follows an investigation into missing cards at a sorting centre in Atlanta.
The investigation began after several customers reported never receiving their reward cards. Surveillance footage from the South Atlanta Sorting and Delivery Center allegedly captured Braziel taking the items. Authorities claim she was part of a larger scheme involving accomplices who stole and redeemed thousands of cards.
Braziel was first arrested in Texas in 2023 for similar offences. She pleaded guilty in 2024 to theft and misuse of AT&T reward cards worth over $100,000. Her sentence included probation and an order to repay the stolen amount. The USPS Office of Inspector General led the inquiry after customer complaints triggered suspicion. The case highlights ongoing concerns about internal theft within postal operations.
Braziel now faces fresh charges related to the Atlanta incident. If convicted, she could receive additional penalties beyond her earlier probation. The Postal Service has not yet commented on whether further security measures will be introduced.
