President Murmu & VP Radhakrishnan Wish All a Happy Diwali, Urge Responsible Celebrations

President Droupadi Murmu and Vice President C.P. Radhakrishnan have extended warm wishes to all citizens on the occasion of Diwali 2024. They urged everyone to celebrate responsibly, with a focus on safety, environmental friendliness, and helping the needy.

Diwali, the festival of lights, holds significant meaning for Hindus worldwide. It symbolises the triumph of light over darkness, knowledge over ignorance, and good over evil. On this day, devotees worship Goddess Lakshmi, the deity of wealth and prosperity.

President Murmu encouraged self-reflection and self-improvement during Diwali. She suggested helping and supporting the deprived and needy, making the festival about giving and sharing. Vice President Radhakrishnan echoed these sentiments, urging everyone to shun negativity and embrace positivity. He also prayed to Goddess Lakshmi for peace, prosperity, and good health.

Diwali celebrations have gained global recognition, with prominent western politicians like former US President Donald Trump and British Prime Minister Rishi Sunak conveying greetings in recent years. This year, President Murmu and Vice President Radhakrishnan urged all to celebrate Diwali 2024 safely, responsibly, and in an environment-friendly manner, spreading joy and light to all.
