Prince Andrew's 2019 Interview Lies Exposed as Police Reopen Epstein Case
Prince Andrew's 2019 BBC Newsnight interview has come under scrutiny following new revelations. Emily Maitlis, the host, has accused the royal of lying about his contact with convicted sex offender Jeffrey Epstein. The Metropolitan Police are now re-investigating claims related to Andrew's request to look into Virginia Giuffre.
Maitlis felt compelled to rewatch the interview after learning of an email from Andrew to Epstein in 2011. This email, which contradicts Andrew's claim that their contact ended in 2010, stated 'we are in this together' and ended with 'We'll play some more soon!!!!!' In the interview, Andrew stated his last contact with Epstein was in December 2010, which is now proven false.
Andrew's request to investigate Virginia Giuffre was made hours before the Mail on Sunday published the infamous picture of him with her. He asked his taxpayer-funded Met bodyguard to investigate Giuffre and passed him her date of birth and social security number. The Metropolitan Police are actively looking into these claims. In 2011, they inquired about Andrew’s contact with Giuffre but found no evidence of criminal wrongdoing and took no further action.
Maitlis believes there is more to uncover regarding the Epstein files, potentially involving hundreds of victims and dozens of paedophiles. The Metropolitan Police's re-investigation into Andrew's request to investigate Virginia Giuffre may shed more light on the situation. The royal family and the public await further developments.
