ProSiebenSat.1Puls4 ramps up political shows with new hosts and 2026 media literacy push
ProSiebenSat.1Puls4 is expanding its political and media programming with new shows, hosts, and editorial appointments. The broadcaster has announced a fresh debate series, a weekly media magazine, and key leadership changes ahead of its 2026 media literacy initiative.
The moves come as part of a push to strengthen democratic discourse and fact-based reporting, according to the company’s news chief.
Starting January 27, journalist Gundula Geiginger will host Breaking News, a new weekly magazine show. The programme will tackle media literacy, disinformation, and emerging tech trends. Its first guest will be Vice Chancellor Andreas Babler, who also serves as Austria’s media minister.
From February 10, Manuela Raidl returns to present a new season of Pro und Contra on Puls4. The premiere episode will launch a special series featuring Austria’s top leaders, beginning with Chancellor Christian Stocker. Meanwhile, the debate show Wild Umstritten is extending its reach, adding a Wednesday slot on ATV at 10:25 PM while keeping its Monday broadcasts on Puls24. Behind the scenes, Lisa Fritsch has taken over as editor-in-chief for talk formats, while Andreas Rossmeissl now leads the politics desk. Corinna Milborn, head of news at ProSiebenSat.1Puls4, stressed the importance of private broadcasters in delivering reliable information to support democracy. The broadcaster is also preparing to roll out a dedicated media literacy news programme in 2026, building on its focus on fact-checking and public engagement.
The new shows and editorial roles mark a strategic shift for ProSiebenSat.1Puls4, with a stronger emphasis on political debate and media education. The expanded schedule and leadership changes will take effect in the coming weeks, ahead of the 2026 literacy initiative.
