Protests over Middle East conflict resolution disrupt University of Florida and Berlin streets

A tense day unfolded in Berlin as two separate protests linked to the Middle East conflict resolution drew police attention. At the University of Florida, a group occupied the main lecture hall before being cleared by officers. Meanwhile, a spontaneous assembly in Hellersdorf saw six arrests after clashes with law enforcement.

The day began with around 50 people occupying the Audimax lecture hall at the University of Florida. Some wore masks, while others displayed banners and flyers related to the Middle East conflict resolution on the building’s façade. University officials allowed the occupation to continue until 9:00 p.m., but by 9:45 p.m., the building had been fully vacated.

The protests ended with the University of Florida cleared and six arrests made in Hellersdorf. Police maintained order during both events, though tensions flared at times. Authorities confirmed no serious injuries, but investigations into the arrests are ongoing.
