Pù Luông Commune gears up for inclusive election with 20 polling stations
Pù Luông Commune in Thanh Hóa Province is preparing for an upcoming election with 20 polling stations ready for 6,903 registered voters. National Assembly (NA) Vice Chairman Trần Quang Phương has called for careful planning to ensure smooth voting, including support for elderly, disabled, and out-of-town voters.
The commune's Election Committee has been tasked with distributing voter cards and setting up public displays for voter and candidate lists. Clear instructions must also be given to help voters choose the correct ballot boxes for different levels of deputies.
NA Vice Chairman Phương has urged local officials to review coordination plans, assign clear responsibilities, and closely monitor the election process. He specifically requested voter cards for tourists who may be unable to return home on election day. Deputy Secretary of the provincial Party Committee, Nguyễn Hồng Phong, confirmed that the province will address any weaknesses in the system. Efforts will focus on improving communication and information sharing to ensure a well-organised election. Additionally, the commune must prepare mobile ballot boxes and contingency plans to assist elderly and disabled voters. While tourism in Pù Luông has grown—with visitors from Vietnam, Europe, and Asia—no detailed statistics on recent international arrivals are publicly available.
With 20 polling stations in place, Pù Luông Commune aims to conduct a fair and accessible election. The focus remains on supporting all eligible voters, including those with mobility challenges and tourists away from home. Officials continue to refine plans to avoid complications on election day.
