Puschendorf 2026: Dörr Challenges Hütten for Mayor, Promises Transparency
Alexander Dörr, a 54-year-old banking business economist, has been nominated as the Freie Wähler candidate for the 2026 mayoral election in Puschendorf. Dörr, who previously ran for mayor in 2020, will challenge the incumbent mayor Erika Hütten in the election. The election campaign is expected to focus on the question of 'Continuity or renewal'.
Dörr aims to bring transparency and earlier involvement to the town council's decision-making process, rather than presenting decisions as faits accomplis. He plans to tackle heavy tasks for the community, including the renovation of supply systems and the kindergarten, which will put a strain on the budget. Dörr's nomination was unanimous, reflecting the party's confidence in his leadership. In the 2020 election, Dörr lost by a narrow margin of 35 votes. The abolition of the age limit for mayors by the state parliament has paved the way for a rematch between Dörr and Hütten. Dörr is currently a Sparkasse operations manager and is forming a strong list for the town council to support his endeavors in the election campaign.
The 2026 Puschendorf mayoral election is shaping up to be a contest between continuity and renewal, with incumbent mayor Erika Hütten facing a challenge from Alexander Dörr. Dörr's plans for transparent decision-making and addressing heavy community tasks are expected to be key issues in the campaign.
