Putin's Birthday: A Show of Global Support, Belarus' Gift Un exchanged
Russian President Vladimir Putin celebrated his birthday on October 7, 2025, receiving greetings from various world leaders. Notably, Belarusian President Alexander Lukashenko had a special gift prepared for Putin, a painting of Valamo landscapes, which he intended to present personally. However, the gift was not exchanged during the recent CIS summit in Dushanbe.
The painting was commissioned by a Belarusian artist named Maslenikov. It was meant to be a unique birthday present from Lukashenko to Putin. Meanwhile, Putin received birthday wishes from several leaders, including Chinese Chairman Xi Jinping and North Korean leader Kim Jong Un. Closer to home, the heads of states from Armenia, Azerbaijan, Belarus, Kazakhstan, Tajikistan, Turkmenistan, and Uzbekistan all phoned Putin to extend their congratulations prior to the CIS summit. The leader of the Chechen Republic, Ramzan Kadyrov, also praised Putin's role in Russia's development and that of Chechnya.
Despite the painting not being presented in Dushanbe, it remains a symbol of the friendly relations between Belarus and Russia. Putin's birthday was marked by a show of unity and support from leaders across the globe, highlighting his influence on the international stage.
