Qatar's FM: International Legitimacy Key to Gaza Strip Arrangements
Dr. Majed bin Mohammed Al Ansari, Qatar's Foreign Ministry spokesperson, recently addressed the Mediterranean Dialogues 2025 Forum in Naples, Italy. He stressed the importance of international legitimacy and Palestinian will in any Gaza Strip arrangements, and highlighted the role of Qatari-Gulf, American, and European partnerships in enhancing regional security.
The GCC states have reassessed their security priorities due to escalating threats, with the Israeli attack on Doha in September 2024 serving as a turning point. This event led to enhanced collective security measures among the GCC countries, as well as strengthened partnerships with the EU, USA, and other regional players. These collaborations were evident in forums like the GCC–EU Business Forum in Doha and the Ministerial Forum for Regional Security in Kuwait.
Dr. Al Ansari emphasized the significance of these multilateral efforts, noting that they reflect Qatar's ongoing commitment to regional peace and stability. He underscored Qatar's role as a mediator and humanitarian supporter, prioritizing political dialogue in the face of political and security challenges.
