Qazaq Air Suspends Atyrau–Oral Flight Due to Low Demand
Qazaq Air has discontinued the direct Atyrau–Oral flight, citing low passenger demand and persistent unprofitability. The route, previously operating four times a week, is now suspended indefinitely.
Qazaq Air attempted to boost demand with promotional fares and marketing campaigns, but the route remained unprofitable. Fares failed to cover operational costs, leading to the suspension of the service. Oral Airport, now managed by Oral Airport Holding LLP with Kazakh and foreign investment, has not announced any plans to resume the flight.
Alternative transport options, such as buses, trains, and private shuttles, offer cheaper alternatives, averaging 5,000-7,000 tenge. However, increasing costs, including airport fees and currency fluctuations, further strained the route's viability.
Oral Airport Holding LLP plans to focus on increasing flight frequency on high-demand routes, such as Astana and Almaty, rather than reinstating the Atyrau–Oral service. Passengers are advised to consider alternative transport options or monitor updates for potential future changes.
