Queen Mothers Empowered to Combat Disinfo in Bono Region
The Konrad Adenauer Stiftung (KAS) Ghana Office and National Queen Mothers Ghana, Bono Region chapter recently held a workshop for Queen Mothers in the Bono Region. The event aimed to empower them to manage relevant information for peace and harmony, addressing the growing challenge of disinformation and misinformation.
Dr. James Kwabena Bomfeh Jnr, a lecturer at UPSA, addressed the Queen Mothers, advising them to stay above partisan politics to maintain respect and honor. Nana Yaa Ansua III, President of the Bono Queen Mothers Platform, emphasized the threat of disinformation and misinformation to community security.
Theresah Adjei-Mensah, Ambassador-Designate of Ghana to the Czech Republic, encouraged the Queen Mothers to leave lasting legacies in their communities. Dr. Joseph Darmoe, Programs Director of KAS Ghana, explained the workshop's goal to empower Queen Mothers to manage relevant information for peace and harmony.
The workshop, attended by Queen Mothers from the Bono Region, was organized by KAS Ghana Office and National Queen Mothers Ghana. It aimed to equip them with tools to navigate the challenges of disinformation and misinformation, ensuring community security and social cohesion.
