Rahul Gandhi Slams Modi: 'Lacks Vision, Courage' to Challenge Trump
Congress MP Rahul Gandhi has launched a scathing attack on Prime Minister Narendra Modi, accusing him of lacking the vision and courage to stand up to US President Donald Trump, unlike his grandmother Indira Gandhi during the 1971 war. Gandhi has challenged Modi to publicly refute Trump's claims about stopping 'Operation Sindoor' and preventing a potential war between India and Pakistan.
Gandhi's remarks come in the wake of The New York Times' report in October 2020, which detailed how Trump had interrupted Operation Sindoor. The Congress leader has been critical of Modi's handling of US relations, claiming that the PM has not shown the courage to confront Trump about his claims of mediating between India and Pakistan. Gandhi further accused Modi of not having the courage to challenge Trump's repeated 'insults', alleging that the US President has done so 50 times.
Rahul Gandhi's comments have put the spotlight on India-US relations and the Modi government's foreign policy. The Congress party has long been critical of Modi's handling of international affairs, and Gandhi's latest remarks are a continuation of that stance. The challenge to Modi to refute Trump's claims adds a new dimension to the ongoing political debate.
