Railway sign color changes may soon honor awareness days
The Department of Infrastructure (DOI) has confirmed it is open to altering the color of the electrical railway sign for awareness days. Currently, only one request has been made since the lighting was installed. The process, however, depends on guidance from the supplier that has yet to arrive.
A recent Freedom of Information (FOI) request asked why the railway sign’s lights are never modified for charity or awareness events. The DOI responded that it had received just one formal request so far.
The DOI’s ability to change the sign’s color hinges on the supplier’s instructions. If the process is finalized, future requests could be approved. For now, only one formal application has been submitted since the lighting was put in place.
