Ravensburg’s bold orange campaign fights violence against women
A 16-day campaign against violence towards women took place across Ravensburg and the surrounding county. From November 25 to December 10, orange flags, banners, and public displays highlighted the message of respect and safety. The initiative aimed to spark conversations and raise awareness in the community.
In Ravensburg, over forty orange flags bearing the slogan 'Respect stops violence' were placed around the city. Posters appeared at nearly every street corner, reinforcing the campaign's visibility. Meanwhile, construction fences carried banners, and key buildings—including the Frauentor and police headquarters—were lit in orange.
The campaign used flags, art, and public engagement to address violence against women. Events ran from late November to early December, reaching multiple towns and institutions. While participation varied, the message remained clear: respect is essential to ending abuse.
