Reckless Driver Arrested After Chaotic Chase in Prenzlauer Berg
Last night in Prenzlauer Berg, a 21-year-old driver fled from police, leading to a chaotic chase and a collision with a police vehicle. Both the driver and a 25-year-old passenger were arrested.
The pursuit began when officers attempted to stop the driver. Instead of complying, he sped away, disregarding right-of-way rules at multiple intersections. The chase ended at the intersection of Prenzlauer Allee and Danziger Straße, where the driver collided with a police vehicle. Three officers were injured but continued their duties.
The driver, a 21-year-old, fled on foot after the accident but was later arrested nearby. A 25-year-old passenger was also arrested at the scene. The vehicle was seized, and both occupants were taken for a blood test before being released. The specialized unit of Police Directorate 5 is currently investigating the incident.
The reckless driving of the 21-year-old driver resulted in a traffic accident, injuries to police officers, and the arrest of both the driver and a passenger. The investigation into the incident is ongoing.
