Reckless driver causes multiple crashes in Edemissen and Wehnsen before arrest
A 27-year-old driver caused a series of crashes in Edemissen and Wehnsen early on Monday morning. Police later stopped the heavily damaged Ford and arrested the driver on multiple charges, including hit-and-run and endangering traffic. The incidents began between 6:45 and 7:50 AM. The Ford driver was travelling in reverse on Wehnserhorst Street and the B444, forcing a van to brake suddenly to avoid a collision. The driver then sideswiped an oncoming vehicle while still moving backward on the B444 before fleeing the scene.
The same vehicle later struck a trailer on the L320 in Edemissen. Again, the driver left without stopping. Police eventually intercepted the heavily damaged car and took the 27-year-old into custody. Authorities in Edemissen have asked witnesses or anyone else affected by the incidents to contact them for further investigation.
The driver now faces several charges, including hit-and-run and endangering road users. Police continue to gather evidence as part of their ongoing investigation. Anyone with information is encouraged to come forward.
