Red Wings to launch direct Moscow-Minsk flights in May 2026
Russian airline Red Wings has confirmed plans to launch direct flights between Moscow and Minsk from early May 2026. The new route will operate during the May holidays, using domestic Sukhoi Superjet 100 aircraft. Meanwhile, another Russian carrier, NordStar, has been running occasional services between the two cities in recent months.
NordStar first tested the route in late January with two one-off flights. The initial trip carried a hockey team, while the return leg offered public tickets for 89 Belarusian rubles (around €26). Over the weekend of March 14–15, 2026, the airline operated two more flights: Y73099 departed Minsk at 2:40 AM on Saturday, and Y73098 was scheduled to leave at 5:45 PM on Sunday. Tickets for the Sunday flight sold for 2,880 Russian rubles (about 107 Belarusian rubles or €32) before selling out.
Red Wings' upcoming service will begin on April 30, with the first departure from Moscow to Minsk taking 1 hour and 40 minutes. The return journey is expected to last 1 hour and 30 minutes. All flights on this route will use the Russian-made Sukhoi Superjet 100 (SSJ-100). NordStar has also announced two additional one-time flights, with tickets available for purchase.
The new Red Wings route will provide another travel option between Moscow and Minsk starting in May 2026. NordStar's occasional flights have already shown demand for the connection, with tickets selling out quickly. Both airlines are using Russian-built aircraft for these services.
