A92 temporarily closed due to truck fire - Refrigerated truck fire shuts down A92 motorway near Munich

A refrigerated truck carrying food caught fire on the A92 motorway northeast of Munich, causing temporary closure in both directions. Thick smoke and debris scattered across the roadway, leading to traffic disruption.

The incident occurred between the Freising-East and Moosburg-South junctions, with the truck heading toward Deggendorf. The fire started after a tire blew out near Eitting, engulfing the cab in flames. The 32-year-old driver managed to pull over safely, avoiding any injuries. The intense heat from the ruptured tire is believed to have ignited the fire, which completely destroyed the truck. It had to be removed by crane. Ash and charred debris scattered onto the roadway, with some fragments reaching the opposite lane. The A92 was closed in both directions due to heat and heavy smoke, reopening later in the afternoon. The truck was supplied by the firm Dachser.

The truck fire caused significant disruption on the A92 motorway, with both directions closed temporarily. Despite the incident, no injuries were reported. The cause of the fire was attributed to a blown-out tire, and the truck had to be removed by crane due to extensive damage.
