Take a peek at Air New Zealand's brand-new uniforms, a spectacular fusion of style and culture, designed by the talented Emilia Wickstead, along with Māori tattoo artist, Te Rangitu Netana. This revamped attire is a testament to our beloved nation's heritage and identity.
The designs, brimming with cultural significance, feature traditional Māori motifs like the kōwhai and purapura whetū, embodying national pride and history. A stunning addition can be spotted on manager uniforms - an embroidered Huia feather, a symbol historically adorned by Māori chiefs, which staff can keep upon retirement.
A Superb Combination of Sustainability and Diversity escalate|Sustainable fashion meets functionality with this collection, all crafted from eco-friendly materials like recycled polyester, organic cotton, and merino wool. The designs cater to the needs of the highly diverse workforce with various options, ranging from dresses, shirts, trench coats, and even a traditional Pacific Island men's garment, the 'ie faitaga'.
A New Chapter in Air New Zealand's History empower|CEO Greg Foran championed that the new uniforms represent more than just clothing - they symbolize the essence of Air New Zealand's core values: innovation, cultural pride, and individuality. The uniforms will be put to the test during onboard trials starting May 2025, aiming for a full rollout in 2026, dressing approximately 6,000 staff members worldwide.
