RGV Startup Week 2026 Expands to Meet Rising Entrepreneur Demand in Texas
RGV Startup Week 2026 is set to become a key event for entrepreneurs in the Rio Grande Valley. Running from April 24 to May 1, the week-long programme will take place across Brownsville and partner cities. Organisers aim to build on last year’s success, which saw massive online engagement and participation.
The event is hosted by the Brownsville Community Improvement Corporation (BCIC) and the University of Texas Rio Grande Valley’s Entrepreneurship and Commercialization Center (UTRGV ECC). Both organisations have highlighted the growing demand among local entrepreneurs for networking, visibility, and business support.
In 2025, RGV Startup Week reached over 403,000 unique social media accounts, generating 3.56 million impressions. Attendees also watched 40,000 minutes of video streams, showing strong interest in the programme. Cori Peña, CEO of BCIC, linked this high engagement to the needs of Valley entrepreneurs and small businesses. The call for speaker applications remains open until January 20, 2026. Organisers are inviting proposals for talks, workshops, panel discussions, and interactive sessions. Linda Ufland, director of entrepreneurship at UTRGV ECC, stressed the need for a diverse lineup of speakers to reflect the community’s varied interests. Sponsorship opportunities are available for businesses looking to promote their brands while supporting local entrepreneurship. Volunteer roles and additional participation details will be announced in the coming months.
RGV Startup Week 2026 will run from April 24 to May 1 across multiple cities in the Rio Grande Valley. The event follows a year of record-breaking digital engagement, with organisers expecting even greater turnout. Businesses, speakers, and volunteers will play a central role in shaping the programme’s success.
