Rheinberg Council members have been reappointed
Rheinberg has refreshed its advisory councils for seniors, people with disabilities, and migrants. New members have been appointed to each group, bringing updated representation to the town’s key advisory bodies. The changes follow a structured reappointment process across all three councils.
The Senior Citizens’ Advisory Council now includes 9 full members and 4 deputy members. Bärbel Reining-Bender takes on the role of chair, with Margit van Wesel serving as deputy. This council will focus on issues affecting older residents in the community.
The Disability Advisory Council has been restructured with 5 full members and 2 deputy members. Magdalene van Voorn leads as chair, while Walburga Balzen supports her as deputy. Their work will address accessibility and support for people with disabilities in Rheinberg. For the Migration Advisory Council, 6 full members and 5 deputy members have been appointed. Maureen Miller-Welters chairs the group, with Sirus Azadi—who also serves as the town’s chairman—acting as deputy. This council will advise on matters related to integration and migrant communities.
The reappointments ensure each advisory council has fresh representation. The new members will now take part in shaping policies for their respective groups. Meetings and initiatives are expected to resume with updated input from the revised teams.
