Rheinisch-Bergisch District Council launches 11th term with new committees and leaders
The Rheinisch-Bergisch District Council has started its new legislative session with the formation of specialized committees and the election of key officials. The constitutive meeting marked the beginning of the 11th electoral period.
The council has created several committees to oversee specific areas. These include the Audit Committee, Electoral Review Committee, and Climate Adaptation, Environment, and District Development Committee. Despite the formation of these committees, information about the individuals elected to the district board for this term is still unavailable.
The District Executive Committee will consist of 16 members for the 11th term. Four deputy district administrators have been elected to support the newly sworn-in District Administrator, Arne von Boetticher. Peter Lautz, a Bergisch Gladbach native and long-serving CDU councilor, was elected first deputy. Hinrich Schipper, a council member since 2014, took the second position. Friedhelm Weiß, the transport policy spokesperson for Alliance 90/The Greens, was elected third deputy, continuing his role as deputy administrator since 2009. Klaus-Dieter Becker, a veteran district councilor for the CDU, was elected fourth deputy, marking his first term in this role.
With the establishment of committees and the election of deputy district administrators, the Rheinisch-Bergisch District Council is ready for the new term. The council will now focus on its duties, with the aim of serving the district and its residents effectively.
