Rheinmetall Acquires Muni Berka to Expand Ammunition Production Capacity
German defence firm Rheinmetall has acquired ammunition specialist Muni Berka GmbH to boost its storage and production capacity. The move comes as the company’s stock price has climbed by 161% since January, reflecting strong growth in the arms sector. Rheinmetall aims to strengthen its role in Europe’s defence market with this latest deal.
The acquisition of Muni Berka allows Rheinmetall to stockpile over one million artillery shells, securing a stronger logistical base for increased production. The company has integrated Muni Berka’s facilities in Dietersdorf and Ochtrup into its existing network. This follows earlier purchases, such as Spain’s Expal, which have reinforced Rheinmetall’s position as a leading supplier in European defence.
With this acquisition, Rheinmetall expands its ammunition storage and production capabilities. The company’s recent growth and strategic purchases position it as a major player in Europe’s defence industry. The deal’s completion now depends on regulatory clearance.
