Rhineland-Palatinate Police Force to Upgrade Helicopter Fleet with Quieter, More Capable Airbus H145
The Rhineland-Palatinate police force has announced plans to upgrade its helicopter fleet with the acquisition of two Airbus H145 helicopters. The new aircraft, scheduled for delivery in Q1 2024, will replace the current H135 fleet and be operated by the police helicopters squadron in Winningen.
The H145 is renowned for its versatility and multi-mission capability, making it an ideal choice for law enforcement, emergency medical services, search and rescue, and public safety missions. One of the key advantages of the H145 is its advanced rotor and engine technology. The helicopter features a modern five-bladed bearingless main rotor system, increasing its useful load by approximately 150 kg. Powered by twin Safran Arriel 2E engines, the H145 is also equipped with full authority digital engine control (FADEC), which boosts performance and safety. The Helionix digital avionics suite and a four-axis autopilot further reduce pilot workload, enhancing operational safety and situational awareness.
